In my ClickFunnels review, I'll try focusing on the actual sales funnel builder as a tool. Not exactly cheap. It may seem popular - it is popular - but if you think ClickFunnels has to be your absolute essential because everyone else's using it, that's not the case. The popularity may simply be down to the referral system - everyone seems to recommend ClickFunnels to whoever around them randomly, because they all desperately need a commission to cover their costs!
Everyone needs a good sales funnel to sell stuff online. Setting up a funnel can be painstakingly complicated; you need to use multiple tools and get them integrated one another. Each tool comes with a monthly fee. Whereas ClickFunnels has it all in one. The slogan reads, "Kiss your website, shopping cart and autoresponder goodbye!"...
It was a few years ago, I first joined ClickFunnels because someone I knew persuaded me to. All he said to me was "pay $97 per month, but refer it to 2 people and your membership fee will be covered." He was unable to explain what it was. Alright, another Pyramid scheme, I thought. But I decided to take advantage of the first 14-day free trial. I only found out myself that ClickFunnels was a very, very good sales funnel builder. I'll talk about it later, but it is a fact that many affiliates randomly promote it without explaining why this tool is so beneficial and who this is for.

What Is A Sales Funnel?
In short, a sales funnel is a "sales page plus". Instead of a simple one sales page that offers products, a sales funnel gives the customers more options to take, such as an opt-in (e.g. newsletter subscription) form, video link, or maybe a free download link. When your customers click the link, they're directed to a new page where new offers or further discounts are shown, such as "Today only - 1/2 price for you!" or some upsells (other similar products on offer).
Ultimately, a sales funnel exists to persuade customers to spend more money on your products. If you want to maximise the revenue, you want to have a sales funnel in your website. You could design it yourself from scratch, but a funnel creator gives a much more professional look, and of course saves a lot of your time.
That's where the ClickFunnels suite comes in handy.
"All-In-One" Service by ClickFunnels
There are three essential tools to use in order to make a successful, sustainable online sales;
- Domain name and web hosting - to have your own website running.
- Landing page builder - to create a sales funnel.
- Email marketing service (incl. autoresponder) - to sustain your customer (subscriber) to make more sales ("Etison Suite" option only).
The nature of three services is all different, so you'd normally choose separate providers and integrate them one another. But that'll be no longer needed if you switch to ClickFunnels. It provides all three services - you'll have one dashboard to operate, and just need to pay one fee every month.
The Creators
ClickFunnels was co-founded by a multi-million marketer Russell Brunson and also en experienced entrepreneur and software developer Todd Dickerson.
Russell has been renowned since his first successful product "ZipBrander" was released in 2003, also "How To Create A Potato Gun" DVDs in 2005. He does coaching, consulting, released bestselling books and provides technology services.
Whereas Todd started his web designing career in 2001, owned "Fueled Studios" between 2003-2007, has been known as a specialist in multiple methods of internet marketing as well as programming.
Will ClickFunnels Save Time?
Will it save your time? Yes.
To be able to maintain your site, update your subscribers' information, monitor the autoresponder and monitor the performance in all aspects by accessing from one dashboard is a huge timesaver in my opinion. Plus publications that you receive - if you use three separate companies for each service, each company sends you updates and useful tips periodically. Then each time you have to check whether the update is compatible with others or not. It's good to be able to get rid of that hassle.
...And Save Money?
Will ClickFunnels save you money?
The list shown here is a suggestion by ClickFunnels, how much you'd have to spend if you didn't use their service.
It actually looks a little too exaggerated to me... Website hosting doesn't cost you that much nowadays, you wouldn't pay for a landing page software that much every month - usually a one-off payment. An autoresponder fee depends on the number of subscribers you have, starting from free/$12 per month or so.
If you decided to start selling a product or service online today but without any knowledge in online marketing, you'd probably have to rely on a professional help therefore it would surely cost you thousands of dollars, like ClickFunnels suggests here.
Web hosting cost could be as low as a few dollars per month with reliable companies such as Bluehost. Split testing could be done with Clickmagick for $17 / $47 (depending on the number of traffic to your site) per month. But by all means you'd have to learn the technique first.
Pricing Plan
What I didn't quite like was that the pricing options are clearly visible to first-time visitors. If you don't see it on your invitation screen, here it is.
ClickFunnels charge $97 per month. It includes a web hosting, funnel page builder, autoresponder, split testing, plus all the training. Unless you have a previous sales funnel building experience and are prepared to spend many hours of trying & testing, I think ClickFunnels will definitely save you money.
Although I'd like to emphasize that there are cheaper option elsewhere. You can learn to create a sales funnel using a landing page builder, which is not too difficult. You might want to keep that in mind if you choose to give ClickFunnels a try.
There is a more expensive option ("Etison Suite") which will cost you $297 per month, which includes email marketing software. Autoresponder that allows you to track your leads' behavior and segment them. I would personally recommend you to use a separate email marketing service such as AWeber, because their deliverability rates are much more trustworthy.
Power Of ClickFunnels' Funnel Builder
This is what I like about ClickFunnels the most. A landing page builder does not normally create a sales funnel for you - you have to create it using a landing page builder. Obviously you have to plan the flow first.
"Fishbowl Funnel" by ClickFunnels
For example, your customers land at your "Prize Competition" page. When they click the link, they'll be directed to "Thank You For Your Entry" page. So you need to create two pages and link them each other. If you want to add more pages such as "Special Discounts" or "Sorry, you've already entered the competition" message page, you'll have to make them all accordingly.
With ClickFunnels, it (=funnel) is already done for you. There are 6 different types of templates to choose from, and you just have to tweak using its drag & drop WYSIWYG page editor. The templates are;
- Best Seller Book Funnel - for an author to sell multiple books. Of course you can use it for any other multiple products.
- Product Launch Funnel - run of several video pages such as introduction, testimonials, instruction video, user experience video, etc.

Crazy Campaigns Among Affiliate Marketers
I'm hoping that this section will not distract my genuine ClickFunnels review as a tool. But this is true - ClickFunnels is very popular among affiliate marketers 'for the sake of affiliate marketing' because of the simple but unique commission system that it offers;
- If you refer ClickFunnels to someone, you'll receive 40% commission (approx. $40 every month, as long as that person stays as an active member).
- If that person (your referral) refers someone else, then you'll also receive an additional 5% commission.
- If you have 100 referrals per month, ClickFunnels will reward you with a sports car (!)
I've seen many marketers promote ClickFunnels purely based on the commission rate, encouraging people to join without explaining what this tool actually does. "If you refer 100 people, you'll earn 100 x $40 = $4,000 every single month! Plus a car!"
In fact I've been approached by numerous 'newbie' affiliate marketers trying to sell me ClickFunnels in the past few years. None of them - not single one of them - would bother to explain that it is a sales funnel builder tool. Which is, ridiculous.

I haven’t seen many people who use Clickfunnels as much as I used to now. Is this the end of the sales funnel empire? If so it’s good news because I have been scammed many times by people who sell make money online stuff and almost all of them were using Clickfunnels. Too many people think they can easily scam others if they use a sales funnel and they are lucky if others also buy Clickfunnel they can get 47 dollars or whatever half the cost. They are all scums it’s about time it stopped.
Many people who use CF and promote normal affiliate sites by solo ads see no results and quit. I can tell you there is a cheaper alternatives you shouldn’t jump in to use CF just for making 2 page websites.

Hi, you are correct. Click Funnels is a very good system but not many people make full use of it. Many people promote it as affiliates because the 50 percent commission is good.

Hi Ray, 2 of my friends were invited to ClickFunnels but neither of them went Premium because they were not informed what it was about. All they were told was to refer to at least 2 people then their monthly fee would be covered. It sounds like this is what’s exactly happening. The main thing is if you don’t have a purpose of using the product there is no point joining in the first place. The tool itself is very well made. To me that’s the main thing. I don’t refer ClickFunnels to anyone but I promote my own niche in my own way. I find it easy to customise and I can get a complete control. If you can make sure you make at least a few hundred Dollars/Euro income every month then this is a very good allrounder tool.

They promised me that they pay but they didn’t. I referred to more than 5 people but they did not contact me. I think some of them are lies because some of them once said I get paid within 30 days.

Hi, I have used Clickfunnels in the past and I understand people criticize the way it promotes or low quality training etc. I did not mind any of that. But what I didn’t like was
it was not working in the way I wanted and it kept coming up with error messages.
It didn’t let me add extra upsell page or button didn’t work etc.
If you want a simple sales funnels, surely there are more economical funnel builders around.
If you want to build a complex funnel, Clickfunnels doesn’t deliver satisfactorily.
I would not recommend it.

You might think, it’s not true if you recommend it to more than 100 people you will receive a car. But it is absolutely true!

No ClickFunnels will not save you money. I was a victim 2 years ago. I was paying a hefty monthly fee for 97 dollars without knowing for 8 months. I lost a lot of money from it. I know it was partly my fault not recognizing the payments but they should have the decency to send an invoice. I never received it.

Do you know if Clickfunnels sell your email addresses, because as soon as I signed up for 14 day trial I started to receive spam emails (more than 20-30 a day all of a sudden) that’s the only explanation to it but it may be someone else who is linked to Clickfunnels. I want to make a complaint.

If you want to create a sales funnel, you should make a one-off payment to a different funnel builder. You can learn the technique over time and make full use of it, other than to keep paying monthly.

Hello, I agree what you say and some others say here that ClickFunnels is all about spreading it to others, making buzz and making more monthly commissions against each other. It is becoming ridiculous because every other sales funnels that I see nowadays is ClickFunnels and hardly any of them actually sell meaningful products. I think we are all learning a lesson here. This is nothing to do with sales funnels. It’s just a typical MLM. Only loud ones win. The rest all lose out by being persuaded to pay $97 for the first few months.

I find it very, very confusing. Also I was told to refer 2 people. But I was not told how to use it or which type of marketing to use it for. The man who referred me was very unhelpful. I realized he was looking for his commission. I was not for me then I canceled.

I think Wealthy Affiliate will give much better options in training and website platform. It includes all the security aspects so you don’t have to worry about it.

Everybody is promoting Click Funnels as far as I can see. Especially on solo ads and FB ads in order to receive commissions. But nothing else. I cannot see it’s worth spending so much money.

I used ClickFunnels for 8 months and made quite a lot of affiliate commissions. At the same time I promoted CF itself but nobody was interested. You have to sell CF to at least 2 people to make ROI but the type of audience is different. The only way to sell it is by network marketing which is not for me. I no longer use it now.

Hi, I spent so much money on Click Funnels monthly fee for just over a year and finally decided to give up. It’s not like Click Funnels will automatically let you make money. You have to receive a good amount of training and you have to know what works and what doesn’t.
Partly because I didn’t have my own mentor and I just had to follow the training blindly, I could say. In the end I just used a free sales funnel I was given from someone I know, and I am now slowly trying to build my internet business. You don’t need expensive stuff.

I see so many make money products promoted on ClickFunnels, I can identify it at a glance. That’s the reason why I don’t really want to use it because you get recognized right away. And it’s not necessarily reputable I don’t think…

Hi, I have tried in the past but 2 weeks later I canceled it. ClickFunnels was introduced to me by a very nice affiliate marketer guy, unfortunately I had to apologize because he said I could only introduce it to 2 other people then my monthly fee will be paid off. Unfortunately I couldn’t introduce it to even one person. It’s very difficult if you don’t have a friend who is interested in website business. I will try if I have an opportunity in the future.

You are totally right. ClickFunnels is one of the most overrated and overhyped products. Hugely because of the hundreds of affiliates furiously promoting it, and new users are fooled for it. Plus when they start paying for it they become desperate to get the money back they promote it to others. Making Click Funnels a monster which is stupid. Over priced, I’m ‘not interested.

In my opinion ClickFunnels is for younger people. Like you say people on the training videos are hyped and do a lot of garbage talk. The videos can waste your time if you want to get to the core point. But they can be fun if you feel like a part of the team. For that reason I felt somehow left out. I cancelled it unfortunately.

I was introduced to Clickfunnels by someone I knew on Facebook who was in online marketing. He said it was easy to set up but he also told me I didn’t even have to do anything to it, all I had to do was to refer 2 people and my monthly fee would be paid off.
Because he was so persistent on me I joined, and I realized I could not refer to 2 people, not even 1 because I didn’t even know what this was. I still don’t understand it. It looks to me like a legitimate system by the looks of it from your article, but I did not like the way it was introduced to me.
I cancelled the membership within a week or so and did not have to pay anything. I was lucky.
Hi Ray, I have used ClickFunnels as 14 days trial but unfortunately it wasn’t what I wanted. Cancelling was easy thank God. I like building website using WordPress but ClickFunnels already has sales funnel made ready for users. In my opinion it’s ideal for people who don’t know how to build website but I do. I can make funnel myself.
Another reason was I did not like ClickFunnels training videos. A lot of talking with no core advice. I’m glad I cancelled but I’m sure it’s very good for some people.

Hi Soonji, thanks for sharing your experience. I was at the same place as you. What I enjoy the most is to create a website (sales funnel) from scratch. ClickFunnels takes away that joy from me while it’s great for those who prefer the convenience of not having to link funnel stream. It’s undoubtedly sales focused, so I’m not saying it’s bad. It’s great, but it wasn’t for me. I wasn’t keen on the training videos either. ClickFunnels is made by and for network marketers. And it’s popular among them, no doubt.
I can confirm that ClickFunnels are very popular among bizopp/MMO promoters, or affiliates. I would say more than 50% of IM promoters use it. The big question is are they making a good return from it? The problem I can see is that the funnel’s design style is instantly recognizable. I’m in this business for more than 5 years. If I see a squeeze page using ClickFunnels, I know where the site owner comes from. They are also struggling to make money whilst promoting using boring catchphrase that we’ve all heard before thousands of times. Follow the exact steps and you’ll be a millionaire. Autopilot, one-click-system. We know they don’t work, but they can catch some fish if they are lucky. Because there are plenty of “new fishes” available in the sea. Good luck if you are using.
Thanks Jovey, interesting point of view. Yes ClickFunnels’ good design is instantly recognisable which I think is advantageous for the users. Whether you are able to sell products well or not is up to how you promote it, providing the product is genuinely useful and legitimate. Of course it’s stupid to overstate the outcome (“make a million in X days”) – it’s all up to your ability.

I have a question. What kind of products can I promote using Clickfunnels? From what I can see the monthly cost is not cheap and if I don’t see ROI it’s not worth joining for. Hi June, thanks for your comment. To answer your question, you can promote any products in any niches using ClickFunnels. But you’re right, there is a monthly cost to pay, so you’d like to choose products/niches that you are confident with, and you have some prospects in terms of the volume of traffic to your site and whether you have the right kind of visitors or not.
MMO products generally give you a large % of commission per sale, so not surprisingly many affiliate marketers go for the niche. I hope this makes sense but if you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to ask again.
What I don’t like about Clickfunnels is anybody can instantly tell it’s Clickfunnels. I’d like something that stands out and if every marketer is using it there’s no personality. But if it’s proven to sell I guess that’s what it matters.

In a way it’s so easy to be mislead by whoever referred you to a sales funnel platform, being told as “all-done-for-you system” “just copy & paste” “step-by-step is all you have to take”… You cannot create an originality by simply following a template. It’s how you sell a product, not which platform to use – though ClickFunnels makes it easier for newbies.

Hi Zed, if you have no previous experience in creating a sales funnel AND selling products online, Clickfunnels is a great option to start out easily. It depends how you want to sell in the future.
If you’re confident with volume of the sales in the future, $97 per month may be worth it.
On the other hand, if you want to build your own sales funnel from scratch and have a total control over it. You can start learning by joining Wealthy Affiliate and start building a funnel using a builder such as Thrive Architect that I recommend, or Instabuilder etc. That option will work out cheaper and more fun.

I’ve seen a lot of Click Funnels ads but I see why it’s popular among network marketers. That’s a lot of money to spend, man. I once received a message from a Facebook scammer (born in the US but currently in West Africa for peace keeping process blah blah) who was trying to get my bank detail. When he realized it was impossible to scam me, he tried to get me in to Click Funnels. I blocked this guy anyways. But yeah Click Funnels looks like a legit but you gotta have a business purpose. I’ve had many of the same type of Facebook scammers approached to me in the past few years…in their profile typically they’re from one US State but they were born in another state, always graduated a high school with a major city in its name such as “Chicago King’s High” or “Houston Royal Grand High” lol… and they’re currently in Libya/Syria/Afghanistan for peace keeping. And you can tell from their broken English that they’re fake. Anyway…
Wealthy Affiliate is an all-rounder program with pre-loaded WordPress web hosting service. It does not provide you with a sales funnel template, but there are many training, tips and advice on which sales funnel builders to use, how to use them effectively, etc. If you already have a product to promote, ClickFunnels will provide a quick solution as well as useful training but as you say it’ll be costly. Wealthy Affiliate is great if you have a few different niches in mind and you want to start everything from scratch and build your empire in a proper way. Both are free to start. Give them a try and see which one suits you.

Hi Sanjay, thanks for your comment. I believe the best way to make money fast with ClickFunnels to (1) choose a good affiliate marketing program to promote (2) buy a traffic from a reputable provider and send as many visitors to your site created by ClickFunnels and (3) networking.
(1) You can choose a program in any niche that pays good % of commissions, but it’s always good if you try it yourself and believe the program. At least you should feel comfortable with it and shouldn’t have any doubts.
(2) If you can’t find a reputable provider, you can always try Udimi.
(3) Networking is the key element to earn referrals. Many people use social media, connect to as many people and keep sending private messages (which I’m not personally fond of – but that’s the start!)

Great post, I was wondering if paying $97 per month was going to be worth it. Someone tried to persuade me to join. You’ll receive 50% referral commissions, it may be a lot but if you refer 2 people you’ll get your money back. I don’t like the idea of MLM-like system so I didn’t join. After reading your post maybe it’s not for me. But thanks for the great Clickfunnels review. I appreciate it.

Unless you have a connection with many online marketers who are open to try new systems. I do receive a lot of invitations via LinkedIn, Facebook message or via LeadsLeap on a daily basis and, I can only see it as a desperate attempt to spam, sadly…
Having said that, ClickFunnels is a well-established system with a good support. $97 per month is not cheap, it’s good for those who want to build a little more complicated sales funnels at ease. Thanks for your visit!

Thanks for your comment & question – ClickFunnels is just a sales funnel builder, so how quickly you can make money relies on the niche and your marketing skill. You’ll find the training module useful. It also pays referral commissions, so promoting ClickFunnels itself (like I’m doing right here!) is another way.
Another alternative is to start off cheap (How To Build A Sales Funnel On A Budget) and when you’re financially comfortable move on to ClickFunnels. Good luck!

Clickfunnels only does online funnels, but Vonza is an all-in-one platform. Entrepreneurs and business owners can do more than courses, they can run an online store, sales funnels, email marketing and beyond. So Vonza is a better deal for business owners and entrepreneurs.

In fact a lot of all-in-one’s can be of inferior quality as they try to do too much and often none of the features turns out to be as good. Particularly for email marketing, I would strongly recommend you to use a reputable service, not the one that comes with an all-in-one.
