Confidence comes from keeping the promises you made to yourself.
With all the self-help books and motivational quotes, it can feel like you are drowning in advice on how to live your best life. What if the answer was simpler than you could ever imagine?
Life has a way of testing us and shaking our faith in ourselves. But it's important to remember that confidence comes from within. It comes from keeping the promises we make to ourselves.
When assessing the state of your self-confidence, it's important to be honest with yourself. Take some time to reflect on recent events and think about how they've made you feel. Be specific in your assessment.
Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence, and face your future without fear.
All the heroes were zeros once.
Think about times when you've felt really good about yourself - when you achieved something or felt proud of your accomplishments. Conversely, think about times when you haven't felt so good about yourself - when you made a mistake or failed at something.
These specific examples will help you get a better sense of your current state of self-confidence. From there, you can start to work on building it up if needed. Remember, confidence comes from within - so keep the promises you make to yourself and believe in your own abilities!
Confidence comes from keeping the promises you made to yourself.
Don't be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.
Actions to Take When You Lack Self-Confidence
Being confident is not about being the best at everything or knowing everything. It’s about having the courage to do things even when you’re feeling scared or unsure. It’s about believing in yourself and your ability to handle whatever comes your way. Your friends and loved ones can encourage to move forward for sure, but you are what you are. Whatever problem you may have, it' best to deal with using the way you know. So here are the steps you can start taking from today;
Don't listen to those who only see your mistakes.
I am ready to see my own life in new and exciting ways.
Understand Your Emotions
Different emotions can affect confidence in different ways. For example, feeling happy and content can boost confidence, while feeling anxious or down can undermine it.
Paying attention to your emotions and understanding how they impact your confidence is a key step in gaining confidence. If you find that certain emotions tend to negatively impact your confidence, try to find ways to manage or cope with those emotions in a healthy way. This may involve journaling, talking to a therapist or counselor, or finding other outlets for expression such as art or music.
If you don't go after what you want, you will never have it.
If you improve by 1% every day, within a year you'll have improved by 365%.
Analyze Your Strengths and Weaknesses
Yes, it is difficult to pinpoint our own strengths and weaknesses at times, but it is important to try to do so if we want to gain confidence. A good way to start is by thinking about what you are good at and what you enjoy doing.
Do you have any special talents or skills that others admire? These could be your strengths. Once you have identified your strengths, you can start working on using them to your advantage. For example, if you are a good communicator, you could use this skill to build relationships with others and make yourself more visible in your community.
On the other hand, weaknesses are things that hold us back or that we find difficult to do. Everyone has weaknesses, but the key is to focus on improving them. One way to do this is by looking for resources or people who can help you overcome your weakness. For example, if you tend to shy away from social situations, look for books or articles that offer advice on how to become more outgoing. Or, seek out a friend or family member who is naturally outgoing and ask for their tips.
By taking the time to analyze your strengths and weaknesses, you can begin working on building up your confidence in areas where you may be lacking. Remember that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, so don’t compare yourself to others – focus on improving yourself!

Make a List of the Things You Want To Accomplish
What’s holding you back? It may be because you don’t have a clear sense of what you want to achieve. Once you know what your goals are, however, gaining confidence becomes much easier.
Start by making a list of the things you want to accomplish. This could be anything from getting a promotion at work to finally taking that trip you’ve always dreamed of. Whatever it is, write it down. Seeing your goals in black and white will make them seem more real and achievable.
Then, take a look at your list and ask yourself why you want to achieve each goal. What will accomplishing this do for you?
For example, if one of your goals is to get promoted, think about what that would mean for your life. Would it give you more financial stability? Would it allow you to spend more time with your family? Really pinpointing the reasons behind your goals will help give you the boost of confidence you need to achieve them.
The only people I owe my loyalty to are those who never made me question theirs.
Never judge people by their past. People learn. People change. People move on.
Write Down WHY You Want To Achieve These Things
Reaffirming the reason you're doing this is important. Write down your "why" - this exercise will help you clarify your goals and give you something to refer back to when you need motivation.
What will it do for your life? How will it make you feel? Answering these questions will help you connect with your goals on a deeper level and remind you of what’s at stake if you don’t take action.
Sometimes you have to leave, not for ego but for self respect.
You're not the only one. We all struggle at times. So keep your head up, you WILL make it happen.
Believe In Yourself and Your Abilities
No matter how much self-doubt you feel, it is important to remember that you are capable of achieving great things. When you believe in yourself and your abilities, you are more likely to take risks and push yourself outside of your comfort zone. This can lead to personal and professional growth.
Work on building up your self-belief by setting realistic goals and challenges for yourself. Remember to celebrate your successes, no matter how small they may be. Over time, you will develop a strong sense of confidence in yourself and your abilities.
I'm absolutely determined to succeed.
Will it be easy? Nope. Worth it? Absolutely.
Seek Out Social Support
Seeking out social support means talking to a friend or family member about what's going on, or joining a support group for people who are going through similar experiences. Social support can help us feel less alone and more understood. It can also give us the strength to keep going when times are tough. So if you're feeling low, don't be afraid to reach out to those around you.
Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength. (Arnold Schwarzenegger)
Work smart. Get things done. No nonsense. Move fast.
Be Patient With Yourself and Trust The Process
Change doesn't happen overnight, and it's easy to get discouraged if you don't see results immediately. Trust that if you're putting in the work, it will pay off eventually. Of course, it's hard to be patient when you feel like you're not making progress. But try to remind yourself that every journey has its ups and downs. You'll have good days and bad days, but as long as you keep moving forward, you'll eventually reach your destination.
So be patient with yourself, trust the process, and keep going until you get what you really want. That's how you grow real confidence in you.
Don't wait until you reach your goal to be proud of yourself. Be proud of every step you take. (Karen Salmansohn)
Just because most people don't make it, doesn't mean you can't.
Don't worry about failures. Worry about the chances you miss when you don't even try.
Go as far as you can see, and you will see further.
Remember to take your time. Don't get agitated if nothing seems to happen. Every success person, wise, skilled, and generous person started from zero, they have built their capabilities over time. And still, they have ups and downs. They make mistakes. They regret. Nobody's perfect. So start small, and keep moving forward. With persistence and dedication, you'll be surprised at how far you can go.
Everything you can imagine is real. (Pablo Picasso)
Sometimes you need to stop, get some rest and take good care of yourself. Get up and carry on when you're ready. You WILL know the answer.
