Be a very real human being. That's hard enough. [Robert Downey Jr.]
In a world where we are constantly bombarded with messages telling us to be perfect, it's no wonder that so many of us feel inadequate. We are told that we need to be thinner, have perfect skin, earn more money and be happier. The pressure to live up to unrealistic standards is overwhelming, and it can leave us feeling lost and alone.
Fortunately, there is a growing movement of people who are dedicated to helping others learn and grow. Those self-development gurus offer their wisdom and guidance online, helping people from all walks of life to improve their lives. They advise you to work on yourself, i.e. be a very real human being, and they tell you that all the good things will happen to you unexpectedly.
It's not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change. [Charles Darwin]
The best things happen unexpectedly.
Emotional Management
Being a real human may mean being able to control your reactions to negative situations and not letting your emotions get the better of you. It means;
- Identify your triggers: What are the things that tend to set off negative emotions for you? Once you know what these are, you can start to work on avoiding them or at least being prepared for them.
- Practice mindfulness: This involves being present in the moment and aware of your thoughts and feelings without judgement. Mindfulness can help you to catch negative thought patterns before they spiral out of control.
- Be assertive: Don't be afraid to express how you feel in a healthy way. If you bottle up your emotions, they are more likely to come out in an unhealthy way.
- Seek professional help: If you find that you are struggling to manage your emotions effectively, don't hesitate to seek professional help from a therapist or counsellor.
Your life gets better when you get better. Work on yourself and the rest will follow.
Don't let anyone crush your dreams.
Mental Toughness
Mental toughness is the ability to push through difficult situations and keep going when things get tough. It’s about having the resilience to keep going even when things are tough, and the determination to see things through to the end. It certainly is something that can be developed and cultivated over time.
- Set challenging goals for yourself: By pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, you’ll learn to cope with difficult situations and persevere when things get tough.
- Don’t let setbacks stop you: Setbacks are inevitable, so use them as motivation to keep going. Every setback is an opportunity to learn and grow, so don’t give up just because things get tough.
- Be accountable for your actions: Taking responsibility for your actions is an important part of mental toughness. If you make a mistake, own up to it and learn from it. Don’t try to blame others or make excuses – that will only make things worse in the long run.
Without a change, there is no growth.
If you can dream it, you can achieve it.
Planning and Goal Setting
People who live their lives successfully - financially, mentally, and happily - naturally have a system for regularly reviewing and adjusting their goals. This ensures that they are always moving closer to their vision and achieving the things that are most important to them.
How do they do it? They may write it all down somewhere, or it may be all in their head. Everyone has a different system for sure, but here's what you can do.
- Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals.
- Write your goals down and review them regularly.
- Create a plan of action with small steps that you can take each day or week to move closer to your goals.
- Share your goals with others who will support and encourage you.
- Adjust your goals as needed based on what you learn along the way.
When you stop chasing the wrong things, you'll start giving the right things a chance to catch you.
Success in life comes when you simply refuse to give up, with goals so strong that obstacles, failure, and loss only act as motivation.
Communication
Whether you're communicating with potential clients, customers, or colleagues, it's essential that you're able to articulate your ideas clearly and effectively. Here's what you can do to improve your communication skills:
Listen more than you speak
One of the best ways to become a better communicator is to simply listen more than you talk. When you're having a conversation with someone, really focus on what they're saying and try to understand their point of view. This will not only help you better understand them, but it will also make them feel heard and valued.
Be clear and concise
When you are communicating, whether it's in writing or in person, make sure that you are clear and concise. Don't use jargon or overly technical language that people may not understand. And don't ramble on - get to the point quickly so that people can easily follow what you're saying.
Use nonverbal cues
In addition to the words you use, your nonverbal cues (body language, tone of voice, etc.) can also convey a lot of information. Make sure that your nonverbal cues match the message you're trying to communicate - if you want to come across as confident and assured, for example, then make sure your body language conveys those same qualities.
Stay focused on your goals. Never doubt yourself.
Be positive. Don't let ANYTHING get you down.

Never Sacrifice Who You Are For Anyone: Write From The Heart
Write your blog posts from the heart - means being honest about who you are, what you believe in, and what you're passionate about. It also means being vulnerable and sharing your true thoughts and feelings with your readers.
When you share your thoughts on social media here & there, you'll get trolls from time to time. Some challenges you severely, and you'll have to find your way of dealing with them; either challenge them back or ignore them. But on social networks, both you & them are at the same position on the same platform, right?
When you have your own blog site, it's all yours. While it's important to keep the readers' point of view in mind at all times, you have the freedom never to sacrifice who you are for anyone else. You can write from the heart in any way you like, your blog will be a reflection of your authentic self, and that's what makes it special.
Every positive thought propels you in the right direction.
Before you give up, think about why you held on for so long.
You Don't Have To Compare Yourself To Others
It's easy to get caught up in comparing ourselves to others, especially when it comes to something like blogging. We see someone with a huge following and think "Why can't I be like that?" or "What am I doing wrong?"
There is no right or wrong way to blog. We all have different voices, experiences, and perspectives to share. The key is to find your own unique angle and stay true to yourself.
When you focus on being the best version of yourself, you'll naturally attract an audience that resonates with your message. So instead of comparing yourself to others, focus on becoming the best possible version of yourself.
Every day may not be good. But there is something good in every day.
Be grateful. Be kind. Keep going for your dreams. How beautiful can life be?
Embrace Your Quirks
We all have quirks. Some of us are shy, some of us are outgoing. Some of us are neat freaks, and some of us are messy. And that's okay! Embrace your quirks and let them shine through in your blog posts.
Your quirks make you who you are, and they're what makes you unique. Your readers will appreciate your authenticity, and they'll be more likely to connect with you on a personal level. So don't be afraid to let your personality shine through in your writing.
You can do anything you set your mind to.
Be all in or get all out. There is no halfway.
Don’t Be Afraid To Show Your Vulnerability
When you open up and share your thoughts, your feelings, and your experiences with your readers, you create a connection with them that is based on authenticity and trust. And when you have that connection, you can really start to impact their lives in a positive way. The more honest and open you are, the more your readers will appreciate it. When we share our vulnerabilities, we give others permission to do the same. And that creates a space for true intimacy and connection.
Remember that vulnerability is strength, not weakness. It takes courage to put yourself out there, but showing the world who you really are is an incredibly powerful thing.
