What is AWS Amazon Web Services? We all know that Amazon is one of the world’s largest online retailers serving billions of customers around the globe. The company is based in Seattle, Washington. Amazon.com serve US customers while other subsidiaries serve many other countries across the world.

Amazon also is a prominent cloud service provider that provides different cloud computing components. Amazon is the first cloud computing service providers to give the world public cloud computing which is a type of cloud computing that can be used by anyone. The services are such as;

  • Platform as a Service (PaaS): Amazon provides the "platform" where users can develop and manage applications. The users (developers) don't have to worry about the infrastructure (hardware or operating systems) because it's taken care of Amazon.
  • Software as a Service (SaaS): Amazon runs and manages a complete web software that anyone can use.
  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): Amazon provides access to networking features, virtual hardware or dedicated hardware, and data storage space.

These services are provided to both individuals and businesses as they're requested. These services are also simply referred to as "web services", and they help to build a new platform for computing for many users.

AWS Lambda

You can run code for almost any type of application or backend service, and all you need is to upload your code. AWS Lambda will take care of everything else. Your code can be automatically triggered from other AWS services or called directly from any web or mobile apps.

Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC)

It will let you isolate a section of the AWS Cloud and launch AWS resources in a virtual network that you define. You have complete control; select your own IP address range, create subnets, configure route tables and network gateways. Both IPv4 and IPv6 can be used in your VPC for secure and easy access.

Amazon Lightsail

It's the easiest way to get started with AWS for any users who need a simple VPS (virtual private server). Lightsail provides storage and networking capacity to manage web applications, blogs, e-commerce sites, simple software, etc. It allows you to launch a project such as a virtual machine, data transfer, DNS management, SSD-based storage, and a static IP.
