OnlyFans Review

Someone has just referred to me to OnlyFans. But I've already got an account, I've never used it and I'm probably not going to unless it becomes more accessible and interesting (again?) - I have no idea what it was like when it was launched back in 2016. According to Wiki, OnlyFans is a social media service. But now it's clearly not - not only is there a facility to connect to other users, but it's just simply deserted. OnlyFans doesn't say, or no longer says it's a social network service in its page anyway. It's a "very useful tool for YouTubers, fitness trainers, models and other public figures or influencers."

OnlyFans Review

The dashboard is so bare (literally).

Will I Make A Commission? No, Unfortunately...

So the man who referred OnlyFans to me said it was a "premium social media network, which could assist you to make referral commissions from subscription fees."

What a load of bo**ocks that is!

First of all he sent me his referral hyperlink but this is not an MLM. Even if I made a referral commission myself, he wouldn't get a cent out of it. The only time this man could make money out of me is if I subscribed to one of its services and started to pay the fee. Which is extremely unlikely, not because all the "service providers" are half naked but because I don't know any of them.

And how could I make a referral commission? There seems no way, because each service provider (either a fitness model or fitness model-slash-pornographic-film-actor) has very little information displayed in her/his profile. Even if they did, essentially I'd be selling pornographic content if I started to promote them randomly elsewhere, imagine on Facebook and all that. I'm 54, I have nothing against it. But I'd just have to have a reason for selling that particular...niche, you know what I mean?

Guys On OnlyFans – Can They Make Money by Marketing to Gay Communities?

Not Intended For Under 18's

OnlyFans doesn't restrict sexually explicit materials and users can sign up without an age verification process. Users have to agree to the terms of service by checking the box, so that's effectively the statement of restriction. The terms say "By registering an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age." So effectively that's the age restriction, but it's never strongly worded. They don't prohibit under 18 from joining as a user. It also says in another page that OnlyFans' services are "not intended for anyone under 18", and they don't "knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18."

How Else Can You Make Money with OnlyFans?

Not surprisingly, it'll be harder for non-adult contents to survive in an "adult content ok" environment. Because when a new user signs up and the first thing that comes into view is OnlyFans' recommended services which are all adult-oriented. You could start running a video tutorial course for adults but not contains adult/sexual materials - "not intended to under 18". For example;

  • How To Age Gracefully
  • How To Look As Young As 30
  • All About Retirement Jobs
  • Senior Citizen Health Insurance
  • Gardening For Older People

The list can go on! But these graphics can scare some potential genuine pupils away...or drag them to the other direction. "Who cares about health insurance? I won't be around for much longer, I need p*rn!"

  1. I think somethings going on. I made an account and did not see anything. a few weeks later I tried to log in then it said there was no account existed. I tried to sign up then it didn’t let me. I never did anything but it looks like it banned me from joining for no reason.

  2. I’ve never heard of it. In this day + age you cannot mix social media and over 18+ content. There will always be a failure in between. It’s like allowing anything illegal in some states but not in all the states. There may be viewers or users from some states but it’s prohibited elsewhere making something universal is impossible as a social media.

    1. Hello, I think you’re just right. They might as well make it adult-only access, but then there could be other problems such as spams, I guess. Thanks for your comment.
