What Is InboxDollars?

InboxDollars.com is one of the oldest reward programs that let users join for free and pay a small value of cash in exchange for completing tasks. There are many surveys-for-cash sites out there like Survey Junkie, Lifepoints, I-Say by Ipsos, etc. Whereas InboxDollars also offers several different ways to make money such as watching videos and giving feedback, reading emails, cash-back on shopping, etc.

At the moment, InboxDollars is only open to US users, but for UK users, there is an equivalent site, InboxPounds (inboxpounds.co.uk).

Your reward can be received by check, via PayPal, or exchanged to Amazon and other gift cards.

Is InboxDollars Safe?

InboxDollars is owned by InboxDollars, Inc, which is a subsidiary of Prodege LLC. The company has been running this site for over 20 years (established in 2000). Prodege LLC also owns several other well-known reward program sites such as; Swagbucks, MyPoints, ShopAtHome, SendEarnings, ySense, MyGiftCardsPlus. So you know InboxDollars is totally legitimate. It has a strict privacy policy; specifically, if you are a California resident, you can submit a request to delete your personal information, or know about your personal information that we have collected, disclosed, or sold under CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act).

InboxDollars has also been accredited by Better Business Bureau since 2012 and rated A for its trustworthiness.

How To Make Money With InboxDollars

There are several ways to make money or save money with InboxDollars.

Answer Surveys

The purpose of surveys is to get accurate information and opinions of users so that it will help companies improve their products and/or services. For that reason, survey questions don't usually pay more than 50 cents. On the other hand, on very rare occasions, some companies offer to pay a very high reward such as $5 for a survey when they feel desperate for consumers' information. But this is rare.

The disadvantage of surveys-for-cash is the time you spend for the initial qualification test. After answering 5-10 minutes of questions, you might be told that you are disqualified from a survey, then you will be allocated to a different survey instead. In theory, you should be completing a survey every 5-15 minutes, but in reality, you'll be lucky if you can earn 50 cents in a few hours.

Watch Promotional Videos

You can build small earnings by watching short advertising video snippets, but you will only earn $0.01 - $0.06 per clip. This is understandable because from the advertisers' point of view, paying people to watch their advertisement is not the best marketing method and you're not even their target audience in the first place.

Read Emails

You will also earn a tiny amount of money by reading emails sent via InboxDollars and click the link. Not so ideal because you will only earn $0.01 - $0.03 each time and also from the advertisers' point of view, they may be wasting money by paying you to click the links that you're not interested in. Another reason is that you won't really want to have your inbox full of spams. The solution to that is to create a free email account especially for this purpose and never use it for any other purposes.

Use Shopping Coupons Online

Cash Back for Shopping Online InboxDollars

You can also receive some discounts when you shop on selected online stores that partner with InboxDollars. It's not a way to earn extra money but it's a way to save money and, some shopping coupons available via InboxDollars are groceries and homewares which are necessities that you spend money on anyway. It's a good option to keep an eye out for some cheaper deals if you log on to InboxDollars frequently and earn some extra income on surveys, etc.

Play Games

This is not a way to make extra money but only if you're interested in playing online games, you will get some cashback when you spend money on some games. InboxDollars partners with Game Show Network and there are some selected games on offer.

Use InboxDollars Search Bar

InboxDollars Search

You will be rewarded $1 just for downloading the InboxDollars search bar. If you perform certain "qualified searches" for 4 or more consecutive days per week, some cash credit will be rewarded as well as $0.05 as a loyalty reward. The qualified searches will be restricted, for example, the following searches will be excluded;

  • Images or videos
  • Searching by website domains (URLs)
  • Well-known websites such as CNN, Facebook, Gmail, etc.
  • Stock quotes
  • Word definitions
  • Gibberish or phrases that contain no search results

But otherwise, web search is something that anyone can do on a daily basis, so this can be some tiny extra to add to your InboxDollars earnings.

Refer Others To InboxDollars

You can also refer your friends or social followers to InboxDollars and earn $1 each person activates their new account. Plus 30% of their earnings. The signup bonus of $1 is restricted to a maximum of 5 people ($5 in total) but you can refer as many people and there is no earnings cap for how much you can earn from your referrals.

Minimum Payment & Gold Membership

You can request for payment once you've earned $30 or more with InboxDollars. When you first join, you will get $5 joining bonus, so you'll only need to earn $25 to achieve it. The payment option can be selected from a check, prepaid Visa, or eCards.

Once you get your first $30 paid, you'll automatically become a Gold Member. The Gold membership allows you to access to more variety of earning opportunities. The prepaid Visa, InboxDollars eCards or Check payment options will initially take 16 days to process, but from the 2nd time (when you become a Gold Member), it will be processed 3-9 days after your request.

InboxDollars Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Free to join + $5 joining bonus.
  • Great to save money if you shop online a lot.
  • Well-established site, trustworthy.

Cons:

  • You earn very little.
  • Reward programs can be unproductive.

InboxDollars Review: Is It Worth Trying?

Reward programs are not fields of gold. None of them is designed to make a full-time income but they are rather for you to help other businesses by making small contributions and receive small gratitude in return. InboxDollars.com is no exception. Unless you enjoy the experience, you might feel as if you are wasting your spare time.

If you shop online a lot and play games online a lot, then it's worth taking a look to see if this is for you, because there may be some great money-saving opportunities. But if you're willing to pursue a career in online business, then I would rather recommend you to look for something more productive for yourself. Using your time in learning online marketing skills will be much more valuable than answering surveys and watching videos that mean little to you.
