Idle Empire is another GPT (get-paid-to) site. If you are out of work and desperate to make some emergency cash, doing some easy tasks such as answering surveys is one of the "popular" ways. Although popular doesn't mean great - the pay rates are generally extremely low, and the repetitive jobs can become so soul-breaking after a while. Still better than earning nothing, you just need to stick to the right GBP sites as there are also many reward sites out there. Today my Idle Empire review can confirm that the site itself is definitely not a scam. I think it's one of the "clear and straightforward" sites that you can get started with easily. But there are a few things features that you may want to stay away from.

What Is Idle Empire?
Idle-Empire.com allows you to earn points for completing easy tasks, and the points can be converted into cash. The tasks including, answering surveys, watching videos, and joining sweepstakes. You'll earn points for referring others and also for shopping via a linked web store (as a way of cash-back, effectively.)
100 points are equivalent to $0.01. You'll receive anywhere from 3,000 - 7,000 points for completing a set of survey questions, i.e. $0.30 - $0.70. You'll receive a lot less for watching videos ($0.005 per video ad). On the other hand, you'll get a lot more points for some sweepstake entries, but you'll be required to give out your full personal information and as a result, you're most likely to start receiving a lot of unsolicited emails and calls from companies you've never heard of.
You can redeem your points in various ways; by cash, by cryptocurrency, or by a gift card.
Who Owns Idle Empire?
Idle-Empire.com was launched in 2015 and is owned by a company named Ehrenreich/Pahl GbR, based in Germany. Two guys Simon and Yanik are behind it. Since 2018, it has allowed members to withdraw cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. The site is listed in Alexa ranking #33,000 and the company is duly VAT registered, which indicates that the business is in good faith.
Surveys For Cash
Plenty of surveys are available at all times, but I'm from the UK, I guess the availability varies from country to country. In my "surveys" dashboard, 10 x research companies are listed, and each company lists numerous different surveys, offering 3,000 - as high as 7,000 points. The pay rates are decent, pretty good compared to other surveys-for-cash programs, in my opinion. But like others, the task is not as easy as it sounds because;
- You'll have to tell them your personal circumstances over and over again (e.g. academic history, employment status, household income, no. of children)
- After 5-10 minutes of answering about you, you'll very often be told that you're not suitable for the particular survey.
- The actual survey duration is often a lot longer than you're told at the beginning.
I just tried one 15-minute survey to earn 5,400 points which actually took 45 minutes to finish. Although I must emphasize that this is not particular to Idle Empire. Most of the legitimate surveys-for-cash take up a lot of your spare time for nothing. So if you've never tried one of those before, that's one disadvantage that you might want to keep in mind.
Watch Videos
You'll be rewarded with 50 points ($0.005) after you've watched a few minutes of video ads. Usually, the pay rates of any "get paid for watching videos" are extremely low because after all, you don't have to physically watch them. So perhaps 50 points are appropriate. Although the browser tab of the video will have to stay active - as soon as you open a new tab or do something else such as checking emails, the video will be put on pause. It'll have to be played until the end of each video to get the points credited.
Some "Dubious" Offers
There are a couple of offers that I'm not sure if I could ever recommend; device/software testing and sweepstakes. The latter is not even a "task", all you do is answer a few silly questions. These offers may not be genuine, and here are my thoughts.
Device Testing
You are asked to test fairly expensive electrical goods, e.g. brand new smartphone, and you'll get to keep it in return.
- Small, relatively unknown brands may ask the public to test their products to improve the quality and raise their profile at the same time. What's advertised on GPT sites are already high-profile products such as iPhone.
- These testing opportunities are never offered by retailers or manufacturers, but by marketing agents.
- And the marketing agents are targeting random GPT users, rather than optimizing geographically via more reliable sources.

Sweepstakes
We've seen this kind on many GPT sites for many years; "Win brand new PlayStation", "KFC/McDonald's vouchers", etc.
- These opportunities are also always offered by marketing agents in exchange for answering just a few shallow "survey" questions.
- The sweepstake offers don't particularly promote brand awareness, which means the winning prizes are not provided (authorized) by those brands such as Sony, McDonald's, etc.
- And again, targeting random GPT users who are not necessarily existing customers of the brands. If a sweepstake is real, whoever runs it should be benefitted from the event.
To participate in one of those, you'll be required to submit your full personal information first (full names, street address, phone number, email address, date of birth). You're never likely to be chosen as a product tester, you'll never win a prize, but instead, you'll end up receiving spam emails, unsolicited texts and calls.
For all the above reasons, some of the offers advertised via (not just Idle Empire but any) a GPT site make me suspicious. But please let me emphasize again, I'm not saying all the product testing for reward and sweepstake offers are fake.
Referral Program
You'll earn 50 points ($0.005) every time you refer someone to Idle Empire, and also earn 20% on all points that your referral earns through surveys and other tasks. Your referral will also be awarded 500 points upon joining.
50 points seem very little, but I guess there are a lot of ghost users (they just sign up free and do nothing). Only when your referral seriously starts working on it, you'll be rewarded by 20% - when they earn $10, you'll receive $2, which isn't too bad.
Some materials are ready for you to promote, such as banners in various sizes you can place on your website and your special referral link to different landing pages, e.g. "Earn Free PayPal Money", "Earn Free Amazon Gift Card", "Earn Bitcoins", "iTunes Gift Card" and so on.

Withdrawing Money
Your points can be converted to money and withdrawn in different forms;
- Cash - via PayPal, Payeer, or Perfect Money
- Cryptocurrency - Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Stellar, Bitcoin Cash, 0X, etc. You'll have to have an account with Coinbase, which is free. The link to Coinbase page is there and plenty of easy help/instruction is available.
- Various gift cards - Amazon, eBay, Steam, Apple Store, Google Play, Netflix, Spotify, and many more.
Each of the methods and gift cards has a minimum threshold. For example;
- You can withdraw in any of the cryptocurrencies from 1,000 points ($0.10) and you will not be charged a withdrawal fee.
- You can also withdraw cash through Payeer or Perfect Money from 1,000 points. But PayPal's minimum threshold is 30,000 ($3) and you'll be charged with 2.9% withdrawal fee plus 30 cents transaction fee.
- If you want a gift card, the threshold is higher and you'll also be required to earn more points to compensate for the admin fee. For example, to receive a $5 Amazon gift card, you'll have to have earned 54,600 points ($5.46 worth.)
I can confirm that withdrawing money is easy and quick - I tested it myself this morning, converting 5,000 points ($0.50) into Bitcoin, and by late afternoon, I received it at my Coinbase account.
Idle Empire Pros and Cons
Pros
Cons
Idle Empire Review - Conclusion:
Reward sites are open to anybody and the tasks are so easy, which means they are never designed to let you earn a lot of money. You're not learning anything new from the tasks, so I wouldn't personally recommend you to spend too much time on any of the reward (get-paid-to) sites out there.
Having said that, Idle Empire is legit, proven to be trustworthy, and allows you to withdraw your earnings quickly. It's good to use if you're desperate for some pocket money.
Hello, my name is Mona. I have been looking to make some money for a while now. Thank you for very helpful information.
I originally wanted to build a website and wanted to make money by affiliate marketing. But I quickly realised it would take years of effort to put before I can make good money. I know once you get there you will be possibly own your own personal brand but at 72 years of age I don’t know how long I can carry on, it takes me a long time to learn one thing. Before I master one method there will be something new to learn…basically I will never be able to make my own affiliate marketing success at the later stage of life. After checking a lot of reports I decided survey programs are the best thing to do because one thing I have is time. I am all by myself as a widower and don’t have many friends, plus due to the pandemic I am rarely able to connect with other people stuck at home, so to make the most of my time instead of wasting away watching TV or killing time doing nothing, I can concentrate on answering surveys. You say it takes longer than you think but if I am able to answer 10 questions a day then I know I can have a supplemental income to my pension money to live on. The only problem I have is when I have enough points if I should get cash or gift cards? I don’t know how bitcoins works and I don’t know if I do online shopping. Preferably I would like to receive cash but I don’t know how I can open one of the accounts as I don’t even have a PayPal account? Can I ask you what should I do? And which account I should But this will be my next challenge. All I should care about is to start working on this wonderful program and be serious about making money. I think it’s all good to go as I have access on my computer and confirmed my account with Idle Empire.
Thank you for your information. Bye for now.
