Text To Speech Converter: Speechelo Review

Updated: July 17, 2020
by Ray Alexander

If you've been looking for the best text-to-speech converter, welcome to my Speechelo review. There may be many different occasions where you want to convert text to speech, but if you find typing easier and quicker than recording your own voice, a software like this will come in extremely handy for sure. The question is, will the finished work be actually usable? In other words, will the voice be natural enough, not too robotic? Speechelo is one of the best I've seen.

What Is Speechelo?

Speechelo is a text to speech converter software that provides AI-based, natural human voice in various accents and languages. You can copy and paste any text content in the box, and it will read it out with the voice of your choice, literally within 10 seconds. You can either let the AI engine decide how it reads automatically, or customize the voice tones (e.g. normal tone, serious tone, or joyful tone), speed, and pitch. You can add breathing and/or a pause between two words at a click of a button. The standard version takes up to 700 words per voiceover. (Pro version up to 2,800 words)

When you're happy with the work, you can download it in mp3 format. So you can turn your text file into an audio file as quickly as 10 seconds, but you can edit it as many times as you wish until you're totally happy with it.

Speechelo is a cloud-based software and therefore allowing you to access from any device including smartphones, without having to install anything.

Text To Speech Converter: Speechelo Review

Who Is Speechelo For?

Everyone has a different purpose of turning text into speech. You may already have a text document and simply wish to upload it on YouTube as an audio file but you may not;

  • have time to record it,
  • have a good microphone or recording equipment, or
  • be in the right environment (noisy room, for example.)

Speechelo is also great for people who have a speech problem like me. I've been advised a thousand times that YouTube marketing is essential and I'd have to nail it at some point. "Keep practicing and get used to speaking in front of the camera." "YouTube marketing is a necessity." "It's a requirement"... What about people who stutter? We would spend a day struggling to record 2-minute audio. Speechelo is a great time-saver for us or anyone who's not confident with their own voice.

The Creators - "BlasterSuite"

Stoica & Vlad

Speechelo was developed by two Romanian guys, Stoica and Vlad, the founders of BlasterSuite. They started their career as internet marketers while developing games at the college. In the past 10 years, they have released 14 software, including Video Marketing Blaster, Live Event Blaster, and Lingo Blaster. Speechelo is their latest addition to the "Suite". They say that the fact that they're not native English speakers inspired themselves to develop this software.

Speechelo Step-By-Step

When you first log in, you'll be advised to watch a training video (6-minute long) but it's actually self-explanatory and dead straightforward. You may want to take time to complete a voice file especially for the first time, because many voice types are available, and you may also want to play around with the control features and change the tone of the voice, speed, emphasize some words, or phrases.

Speechelo Dashboard

Here are the simple steps to take;

  1. Copy the text you want to convert to text, and paste it in the box.
  2. Choose the language from the drop-down menu and also the type of voice you want to use (female, male, kid, etc.)
  3. Choose the "Engine" type - Standard (manual) or AI voice (automatic - see below).
  4. Preview VoiceOver.
  5. Generate VoiceOver - the generated voice file will be saved in your library.
  6. Play the finished audio file.
  7. If you are happy with it, download it. If you are not, you can delete it or copy it and start again.

Standard Engine or AI Voice Engine?

Speechelo Standard Engine

If you choose the "Standard" option, you will have more control over every word or sentence. For example, add breathing or a pause in between words and also emphasize particular words by highlighting them and click "Emphasize words".

Whereas with the AI Voice option, you just need to choose the tone (normal, friendly, or serious) and it will automatically read out the text accordingly. You can still adjust the speech and add pause manually after that.

I think I prefer the AI option because it's quick, and personally think it sounds good enough for me. But I still try adjusing (adding a pause) here and there. You can try both options and adjust the narration again & again until you are totally happy with it.

Multi-Language Support

The standard version of Speechelo can read your text in 30+ different voices in 23 languages/accents;

  • ?? US English: 2 x male, 1 x female, 1 x kid (male)
  • ?? British English: 2 x male
  • ?? Spanish: 1 x male, 2 x female
  • ?? Mexican Spanish: 1 x female
  • ?? Spanish US: 1 x female
  • ?? French: 1 x male
  • ?? German: 1 x male, 1 x female
  • ?? Italian: 1 x male, 1 x female
  • ?? Japanese: 1 x female
  • ?? Korean: 1 x female
  • ?? Norwegian: 1 x female
  • ?? Polish: 1 x female
  • ?? Portuguese: 1 x female
  • ?? Brazilian Portuguese: 1 x female
  • ?? Romanian: 1 x female
  • ?? Arabic: 1 x female
  • ?? Mandarin: 1 x female
  • ?? Turkish: 1 x female
  • ?? Russian: 1 x male
  • ?? Icelandic: 1 x male
  • ?? Danish: 1 x male
  • ?? Swedish: 1 x female
  • ?? Dutch: 1 x female

Whereas the Pro version will let you enjoy 60 x different voices - no new languages, but more variety of voices and accents (English with Australian and Indian accents.)

The Standard version seems to have more than 30 voices though. Welsh accent is separately listed (not the Welsh language but it speaks English with the accent), which I think is quite amusing. Categorically it's just a regional accent within England, it's like "Californian English" is listed separately from American English. (Well I'm not complaining as I love Welsh accents...and people.)

Speechelo Demo

I've very quickly created a video just to demonstrate how "almost perfectly" natural the Speechelo voice sounds. For this particular one, I have;

  1. Created a voice file on Speechelo and downloaded (in mp3).
  2. Generated a video with background music using a free version of Lumen5.
  3. Joined 1 & 2 together using iMovie (free).

Speechelo Pro Version

The Pro version can only be purchased after you get the Standard version. It will cost you $47 per quarter ($15.67 per month). It's totally optional, and I haven't got the Pro version myself. But here are the extra benefits that you can receive from it.

Speechelo Features

Benefit #1: 30 New Voices

Australian accent, Indian accent, and more British English speaking voices will be added.

Benefit #2: Longer Voiceovers

The Pro version will record up to 2,800 words per file, so you can use it to create audiobooks, webinars, podcasts, etc.

Benefit #3: Background Music

You can add background music to the voiceover file. It's equipped with 40 different genres of music - cinematic, joyful, motivational, etc.

Benefit #4: Commercial License

I'm actually not sure of this one. It does not mean you can resell Speechelo and let others use it for a fee. It means you can start a voiceover job and start making money by selling it on places like Fiverr. But the terms & conditions don't restrict Standard version users from selling the voiceover file anyway. The whole product is about helping you create marketing materials.

I guess that being able to record up to 2,800 words instead of 700 will give you a better chance of selling more gigs.

Benefit #5: Ebook "Voiceover Cash Machine"

...And from this ebook, you will learn where and how to post your gigs, finding and signing clients.

Help and Support

Speechelo Training and Help

Personally I think because the step is so easy and the brief training video tells you all, plus you'll get "tips" throughout the dashboard, so I don't think you'll need extra support. But if you have any problem, you can send a ticket to the support desk.

60-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Speechelo is sold via ClickBank, and your purchase will be covered under its guarantee period. If you're not happy, you can ask for a refund within 60 days of purchase.

Speechelo Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Turn text into voice within 10-second to a few minutes.
  • Extremely easy to use.
  • Cloud-based. No need to install anything.
  • 60-day money-back guarantee.

Cons

  • Standard version takes only up to 700 words at a time - you'll have to create 2 separate files and merge them if you want a longer audio file.
  • Needless to say, you need to use a video generator to create a YouTube clip (Like my demo, or use Vidnami which also works well with Speechelo.)

Speechelo Review - Conclusion:

I have tried a few other text-to-speech converters and reviewed them in the past, but I think Speechelo is one of the best. It provides good natural voices and you can take good control over each sentence. You can quickly download it, and also edit it at a later date if you feel you need to. With all the future upgrades included in the price, I think Speechelo is worth spending $47 for.

  1. I cant find specifications for the end product. Export .mp3 only or can it do other formats? What bitrate and filesizes are typically generated?

  2. These people are scammers. I paid for a service that only worked for a couple of months, then they changed the limitations so I could only download 1 conversion per month! There are free services out there that are batter than that. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

    1. Hi Terry, which service are you referring to? I just tested mine and it let me download multiple times. Perhaps one of the new upsells that I may not be aware of? What did the support say? Thanks for your comment.

  3. Hi there, my name is Vittoria looking for text to speech converter for some time. When I saw your post at your website I was aware that i could be the one can be easily used. ?

I have so many documents I wanted to record to upload to Youtube that is what I intend to do. I saw some good evidence on your cybercashworldwide.com about Speechelo so I decided to buy it. I did not read instruction because everything was easy to follow for me.??

I concluded this is enough for me. It will take time to make for me some audio files because my documents are thousands of words but I wanted to let you know in advance thank you ?

  4. Almost like I found a new way to make money. I don’t speak good English enough to do a voice over.
I don’t have the right equipment but text to speech converter was my final solution.
In August 2020 I first tried Speechelo, applying some texts to make my first audio file.
I am selling audio files I have made over 200 people on various mediums and sell very well. Brilliant!!!

  5. I got to make the most of Speechelo for my money. Before I was making my videos solely with writing & bg music. I wish I knew about this earlier. I find the AI voice near perfect. It’s a time saver. I don’t use the manual option as I find the more I tweak the more unnatural it sounds & less is more. It’s good to use for sales pages & affiliate pages also.

    1. Hi Ken, thanks for sharing your experience with Speechelo. Great to see a positive comment. What do you think of the pro version, are you using it already? Let us know your thoughts if you can. Thank you, I wish you all the best!

  6. Hi Ray, I was totally inspired by it and finally bought Speechelo. Overall I’m happy with it but I felt some extra like breathing pause were unnecessary, they can make it sound rather unnatural. But I find it very useful and the reason I bought it was I needed to create an audio presentation for work but I wasn’t confident with my own accent. People at work were all impressed by the AI voice though they knew it was AI. I’m happy with it. Thank you for your Speechelo review, Ray. I agree with your ratings.

    1. Hi Sam, thanks for sharing your experience with Speechelo. Great to hear that you are happy with it. A presentation for work where you don’t want to use your own voice, that I think would be a perfect reason to get Speechelo. Yes, I agree with you on the “breathing pause”, the pauses make it sound unnatural, I tried a few times and gave up. Thanks for the info because I thought it was just my personal/biased opinion without trying it out thoroughly. I appreciate it. All the best to you!

  7. Thank you so much for such valuable content. I am so grateful to know that there is a text to speech converter so that I don’t have to speak into a microphone but still can create an audio file. I am also grateful to know that you publish a lot of valuable content. I enjoy every single one of your pages. I need to share some important information with you. Please contact me *********

    1. Hi Kali, thanks for your comment. I had to blackout your email address for security reasons, but if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me via the form. I wish you all the best!

  8. Interesting subject. I read your text to speech converter speechelo review with great interest.
I need to make money as quickly as possible because I am losing my job soon. Is speechelo going to help me, if so how can I use it please. I like to read Cyber cash world wide because it is pack full of information and I really need your help.
Please contact me on email ******* or skype ID *******
    Thank you. Gary

    1. Hi Gavy (or Gary),

Sorry I had to black out your contact detail. No I don’t think this product will “help you make money asap” that way. There are many affiliate marketing training programs that you can try if you’re interested. Join me from the homepage, then I can take you through. Meanwhile if you’re short of money, I would strongly advise you to go to your local job agency, not to waste time searching online. Thanks for your comment. If you have any specific questions, don’t hesitate to contact me from the form (from the top menu). I wish you all the best.

  9. I bought Speechelo about 2 weeks ago and although I found it very good I decided it was not for me it did not work out fully for me. I asked them to give my money back but I have not received a reply. Can you help me contact them? At least I enjoyed it in the first few days I will be happy to receive half of my money back. Do you have a private contact emails?

    1. Hi Kash, thanks for your comment. As I said in the post, your purchase is covered under ClickBank’s 60-day money back guarantee. You should be able to access ClickBank’s refund support via your email receipt. You are entitled to a full refund, so don’t tell them you’re happy with only 1/2 the money back! Sorry Speechelo didn’t work out for you though. I wish you all the best!

  10. I left a comment a few days ago & you didn’t approve it. Do you only approve comments to help you sell then? You want everyone to agree with you huh?

    1. Hi Marc, I didn’t approve your comment for two reasons.

      (1) It had no quality. It wouldn’t have helped other readers. You said “Speechelo doesn’t work” without explaining it further. I have actually used Speechelo and I’m endorsing it.
      (2) You simply recommend another product (again, without explanation) and placed your own affiliate link. I don’t allow it, and I can’t allow it for a legal reason (as per my disclaimer).

I have approved hundreds of negative comments in the past. I love to be challenged and love to agree to disagree. But I don’t approve every comment, e.g. abusive. Get back to me with valid reasons to recommend the other product instead of Speechelo. Then I’ll approve your comment.

  11. Hi Ray, thank you for your Speechelo review. I find your review extremely interesting. I just listened to your demo and was amazed at how natural the voice sounded! I love it! I didn’t know you had a speech problem but I’m not a fan of video marketing, either, as I have every reason to hate it, I don’t like my own voice and I’m camera shy.

I understand that you still have to use a video editor software but at least you can get your audio sorted, it sounds like it’s going to give me a chance to start something. Thank you for such useful information.

    1. Hi Clair, thanks for your comment. It does sound quite natural, doesn’t it? Though not perfect. Speechelo gives me various great marketing opportunities as well. If you ever start audio/video marketing, do let me know…maybe you can teach me something! I wish you all the best.
