Today I'd like to share a photo sizes chart for social media that you may find useful. This infographic has been created and recently updated by MakeAWebsiteHub.com. When you update your social media profile image from time to time, you'd like to update all the accounts. Especially if you update your business logo or add a signature stamp to your profile image, for instance.
Canva is a great online graphic design program. It includes pre-sized header templates and post templates for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google+, etc. There are quite a few beautiful royalty-free images to choose from and variety of fonts that are customisable.
You can also upload a photo in any shape or size to Canva and easily drag and stretch to fit in the template frame. (Obviously if you use a small photo and stretch it, the image will become pixelated and fuzzy)
But when these social media change the default image sizes, Canva is not the quickest to update the template size accordingly. There hasn't been a drastic change in social media image sizes - for example the current Facebook header size is 820 pixel x 310 pixel according to the infographic below, but Canva's template is set for 828 pixel x 315 pixel. If you use a Canva template and upload it to your Facebook profile, a fraction of the edges are cropped automatically and it's not a big deal.
But instead, you can keep this Social Media Image Sizes Cheat Sheet by MakeAWebsiteHub.com handy and create each header in Canva from scratch by inserting a custom dimension.
The Cheat Sheet contains image sizes for Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Google+, Ello, WeChat, Snapchat and Weibo. I hope it will be useful.
Very useful info. Thanks Ray!
