  • Fastest VPN Review – Cheap and Fast VPN Service
Updated: February 18, 2018

Okay, if you want a fast VPN service, go for the Fastest VPN...! Yes, it's a new VPN service named "Fastest". We all expect a secure privacy protection and flexible server locations from a virtual private network, but a steady, smooth connectivity is as important. Especially when you're in a wifi spot, fast VPN service becomes essential.

I've been using Fastest VPN for a few weeks and am pretty happy with their service, today I'd like to share my experience with you.

Fastest VPN Review Cheap and Fast VPN Service

Fastest VPN

Fastest VPN is owned by an IT security consulting company, Fastest Technology Limited based in Cayman Islands, and the service has only been in operation since late 2017.

I'm not going to lie - I'm a light user of VPN and therefore the price is my priority when choosing a provider. But I'm also greedy, I like taking things more than I need. Fastest VPN satisfies me on both counts. It offers one of the most competitive prices...for unlimited bandwidth!

You know, I'd like an option. I might want to start watching Anderson Cooper 360 live every single weeknight from tomorrow (CNN channel is currently unavailable in the UK, sadly).

Fastest VPN promises to mask your IP and allow anonymous torrenting and enjoy any content that you love without compromising on privacy and security. It also allows you to download files restriction-free with unlimited bandwidth, stream, buffer and watch/listen content that is censored and geo-restricted from anywhere around the world.

Pricing Structure

1 month plan
Unlimited bandwidth

$10/Mo

$120 /year

Billed $10 monthly

3 years plan
Unlimited bandwidth

$1.38/Mo

$16.65 /year

Billed $49.95 triennially

12 months plan
Unlimited bandwidth

$3.74/Mo

$44.88 /year

Billed $44.95 annually

The 3-years plan can seem a little risky because Fastest VPN is new. And who knows if there'll be a much better deal elsewhere in 2 years time or even in the next 12 months...

Having said that, the 3-years plan is the best value for money as you can see. With the 12-months plan you'll pay $44.95 now and pay another $44.95 same time next year. Better off paying an extra $5 now and you won't be billed again for 3 years...I'd personally feel that way.

I don't feel the 1-month plan is not such a good deal either, since it offers a 7-day money back guarantee. The other two plans will work out cheaper if you continue to use it for 5 months or more.

Fastest VPN Availability & Installation

Fastest VPN is compatible with over 20 devices. Easy installation app is available for;

  • Windows 7 or above - Protocols: IKEv2, OpenConnect, L2TP, PPTP
  • Mac OS 10.11 or above - Protocols: IKEv2 (L2TP and XSec coming soon)
  • Android 5.0 or above - Protocols: PPTP, L2TP, XSec XAuth

An app will soon be available for;

  • iPhone - Protocols: IKEv2, L2TP, XSec

Other available devices including;

  • Linux Ubuntu - Protocols: OpenConnect, PPTP
  • Others including Xbox, Roku, PS4, Kodi and more.

I'm a Mac user and the installation was easy as normal. Download the app from the Fastest VPN site and it's ready to use. You just need to follow the full graphical instruction to set up the protocols step-by-step.

One account subscription allows you to use up to 5 devices simultaneously.

Server Locations

The Windows app offer 60 server locations across the world; 6 in North America, 6 in South America, 33 in Europe, 12 in Asia and 3 in Australia. Right now, I can only see 13 locations in my Mac app.

Fastest VPN Server Locations
  • France (paris)
  • The Netherlands
  • Luxembourg
  • Germany
  • Romania
  • Sweden
  • USA (New York)
  • USA (Florida)
  • Australia (Sydney)
  • Singapore
  • Canada
  • United Kigdom
  • Russia (Moscow)

It covers most of the "Tier 1" countries and personally that's good enough for me. Meanwhile the Fastest VPN support says they're adding more in the near future. Also if you'd like a server location that's not currently listed, you can always send your request to the support.

There's no restrictions on changing locations, so you can switch servers as many times and as often as you need.

Security Features

Here are the security features Fastest VPN offers;

  • Anti-Malware - when you connect to a server, the malware protection feature runs by default.
  • DNS Leak Protection - the built-in DNS leak protection prevents any internet requests outside the VPN tunnel that expose your IP.
  • Advanced 256-Bit AES Encryption - trusted by security professionals worldwide.
  • Wi-Fi security - whether you are connected to a public connection or a private one.
  • NAT Firewall - provides extra added layer of security
  • Ad-blocking - the feature blocks any frustrating ads from popping up on your screen.

Connectivity

Fastest VPN Speed

As far as the speed is concerned, Fastest VPN never seems to disappoint me. At least for now, I'm extremely happy with it.

I have tried all the current 13 server locations that are listed in my Mac app, and none of them has disappointed me. Especially with the ones from T1 countries (2 x USA, Canada, UK and Australia), I see absolutely no noticeable slowdown.

Fastest VPN also promises 99.99% uptime and no bandwidth throttling. I certainly haven't experienced "no connection" or sudden deceleration as yet.

Help and Support

If there's anything that's unclear from the tutorial and FAQ's, you can ask any question by email or by Live Chat.

I'm pretty happy with the speed of their response; I've asked them a few questions by email and they responded within a day, but that was when I didn't know that a live chat was also available from the homepage. I then tried a live chat on a Saturday night (UK time - assuming Saturday afternoon in Cayman Islands), it took about 10-15 minutes before someone answered, but I was able to chat as normal with him.

Fastest VPN is not a huge company with someone ready in front of the switchboard 24/7. And for the price they offer, I'm more than happy with the speed and the quality of their help.

Fastest VPN Review – Cheap and Fast VPN Service

If you're looking for a VPN service that offers a competitive price and a decent speed, try Fastest VPN. To check whether your desired server location is available or not, I recommend you to just ask them by Live Chat.

  1. I’ve never heard of fastest vpn. No credibility or whatsoever unless proven to be fastest by users which is not the case…how did they know it was going to be the fastest before they started the service, they didn’t lol.

    1. Hi John, thanks for your comment. Name is just a name, I guess the name doesn’t always reflect the product’s functionality. I’ve also seen these packs of hen’s eggs sold in the local supermarket, the brand name of which is “The Biggest Eggs”!

  2. Hi I think I tried this vpn service many years ago but didn’t like it because it was stuck in my pc then could not close it for a long time. I use Nord vpn and it is working great.

  3. Hey ray, This is a really thorough breakdown of this VPN service. I am currently in the market for a VPN used mainly for streamiing on a rasberry pi with kodi installed.
Do you think this service will be fast enough for HD streaming and do you know how difficult is it to set up on linux?

    1. Hi, thanks for your comment and your questions. Fast VPN is currently working only on Ubuntu, and they’re working on other platforms on Linux. Also on Raspberry with Kodi too. There is a full instruction to set it up on Ubuntu on the website, but I have specifically asked them how difficult it is, and they say no more than 5 minutes to set it up.

As for HD streaming, it’s fast enough to watch a movie, I’ve had no problem so far. If you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to get back to me – alternatively you can ask them any technical questions directly, you will see the live chat link at the bottom-right corner of the website.

  4. Hi Ray, I use Nord vpn and pay over $5 per month, but I don’t use it very often, only to watch Netflix and Nord has a limited bandwidth. I’m thinking about downgrading it to another service and this one seems to be ideal for me. Thank you. Tara

    1. Hi Tara, thanks for your comment. Nord is very reputable company and I’d thoroughly recommend it too, but like you say, if you don’t use a VPN very often, perhaps you could try a cheaper service. And Fastest VPN may be ideal for you. Give it a try whenever you’re ready. (And please do let me know what you think!) Thanks for your visit, I appreciate it.
