What Is Rat Race Rebellion? [Review]

If you’ve been looking for a job online for a while, you may have heard of Rat Race Rebellion. But if this is your first time searching for a career opportunity - finding a job online is not as easy as you think. There may appear to be a lot of vacancies for any job you can imagine, but equally a large number of job seekers are searching around the clock.

If you don’t know where to look, you may waste a lot of time. Because some sites are agencies, some are misleading, and some even charge you for registering. Going through job sites randomly can be exhausting and soul-breaking. If you don’t know the right technique to apply, you may miss your chance because the competition is fierce, especially if you’re looking for a work-at-home opportunity.

So is the Rat Race Rebellion legit or scam? In this review, I’ll discuss the usability, job availability, trustworthiness, and how useful this site may or may not be for you.

What Is Rat Race Rebellion?

Rat Race Rebellion (RRR) is a virtual job-finding platform. It gathers information from various recruiters, marketplaces, GPT (get-paid-to) sites, and lists up the current work-from-home opportunities. Any user can visit the site, sort the list by category to find the most suitable ways to earn income.

The site is mainly targeted at US job seekers, and not all the listed jobs/gigs are necessarily home-based. Some physical jobs such as driving and repair/maintenance can also be found in the list.

Using RRR is free, and you’re not even required to sign up (unless you want to receive updates by email.) But it’s not just a job classification site. It has many blog articles that give you tips on how to get yourself started in the right way. It also provides a course “How to Find a Work from Home Job or Gig in 30 Days or Less” for a small one-time fee of $49.

With over 20 years of history and nearly quarter of a million fans on Facebook, I can safely say that Rat Race Rebellion is a legitimate and reliable platform to help you find jobs online.

What Is Rat Race Rebellion? [Review]

Who’s Behind the Rat Race Rebellion?

RRR was co-founded in 1999 by Christine Durst and Michael Haaren. They also created Staffcentrix, a company to provide the first virtual career training programs for the US Department of State and the US Armed Forces, mainly teaching virtual job methods, internet security and entrepreneurship.

Chris and Mike RRR

Founder Chris (L) and Mike (R)

They have published a couple of books, they’ve been giving seminars and lectures, and they have appeared on countless US mainstream TV programs. And I mean, countless. Many self-proclaimed gurus out there claim to have been featured on US shows and have some media logos displayed on their website (CBS, Fox News...etc.) and you’ve never seen any of them. Whereas Chris and Mike have not just been interviewed but they actually give the viewers numerous tips and advice to beginners. How they can get their first online job started and what they should look out for.

So you know how they carefully make sure each job that they introduce on Rat Race Rebellion is a realistic deal, and pays at least a reasonable rate.

Who is Rat Race Rebellion For?

As the name suggests - this site is for anyone who’s looking to get out of the rat race (full-time employment) that they don’t particularly enjoy. Anyone who’s looking to work on a contractual and flexible-time basis, on their own initiative, preferably from home.

If you’ve been looking for a job online for a while but you just can’t seem to get anything decent successfully - particularly if your applications have been rejected or ignored - then clearly you’re doing something wrong. Perhaps your résumé is wrong, perhaps you’re too under-qualified for the job that you keep applying for. RRR offers a training course that helps you get hired without endless guesswork. You might want to consider taking it.

Are There Any High-Paid Jobs?

The pay rates are set by whoever’s hiring, and they’re generally at an arm’s length, like any other similar job that you find elsewhere. Professional services that require a qualification are reasonably high, whereas jobs that anyone can do such as surveys-for-cash are very low.

Rat Race Rebellion Job Listings

The range of job types is so wide, but you have access to 3 separate sections from the top menu, so you’ll know what to check even for the first-time visit;

  • The Main Section (“Big List of Jobs & Gigs”) - The list has a wide range of types, so it can be sort by category, filtered by criterion (experience, qualification requirements, jobs that don’t require telephone calls, etc. )

Why Should You Use Rat Race Rebellion?

There are some good reasons Rat Race Rebellion is a great resource which you can make use of instead of checking out multiple similar directory sites.

    #1 Variety of Jobs

Some people who are looking for a home job may still want to carry on what they do but just operate it from home. Whereas some would probably like a total career change. Others may be looking to work online but are not sure what options are available for them.

As you can see above, the list is prepared for everyone - hopefully you can find the one that you’re looking for, and if you can’t, you’ll still know what types of work are in demand and get an idea of the pay rates.

    #2 Legitimate Jobs Only

Some career-finder sites out there often pick up offers by the keywords such as “make money online”, “online jobs”, “work from home” and list them all up as income opportunities. They’re automatically picked by the script and not manually checked. So the lists may contain fake recruitment agencies, phishing scams, or advance-fee scams.

Many other sites that I’ve seen also recommend investments (shares, cryptocurrencies, forex, etc.) or even casio/gaming as ways to make money. An investment is not a job, and gambling is certainly not, either. They promote those opportunities purely to make themselves money as an affiliate. They’re not helping the users but rather insulting them.

RRR only picks legitimate jobs and none of them in the list requires you to pay an advance fee. Unless you’re looking to run your own business, you’re there to get paid, not to invest money only to risk losing it.

    #3 Learning Opportunities

    Rat Race Rebellion does not just introduce home jobs but provides plenty of tips, advice, and training. You can maximize the chance of career success by;

    • Reading the useful blog posts, e.g. “make $500 per month using smartphone apps”, “remote customer support jobs that pay up to $17 per hour”, etc.
    • Signing up to receive the latest job updates and advice.
    • Following the Facebook page to be notified with new blog updates.
    • Enrolling in the course “How to find a work from home job or gig in 30 days or less” for a one-time fee of $49.

Who is Rat Race Rebellion NOT For?

On the other hand, there are a couple of reasons you may not think RRR is not for you.

#1 If You Live Outside US...

The RRR site was created to help primarily US residents find a job online. So while some vacancies are open worldwide, many others are available to American residents only. Not only the local jobs such as repair/cleaning or dog sitting but some customer service jobs require you to be living in the US. So if you are a non-US resident, it may take you longer to find the ones that you're eligible to apply.

#2 Not If You Want An Unlimited Income Opportunity

Almost all of the jobs that you'll find at this site are for independent contractors or employee positions for companies that are looking for specific types of workers. The pay scale is limited and some of them may be lower than you would expect. You probably won't be interested in most of the ones you'll find at the Rat Race Rebellion if you have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to make money from home by building your own business.

The Training Course “How to Find a Work from Home Job or Gig in 30 Days or Less”

    The course is made up of 17 modules with 3.5 hours of video, led entirely by the co-founder of RRR, Chris Durst. Chris was the "original virtual assistant" back in the 1990s, and she shares all her job/gig application techniques. I think the course may be particularly useful if;

    • You've been applying for a position for a while but just cannot seem to get anything successfully, or
    • You look for multiple companies to work for as a contractor on a temporary basis, so these vital job-finding techniques can be of use over & over again in the future.

    You’ll learn essential work-at-home job hunting techniques such as;

    • How to find jobs before companies even advertise them.
    • Secret tools and resources to get access to vacancies.
    • How to be successful at a remote job interview.
    • You don’t get a call-back, maybe because your resume is automatically filtered out by the software - how to avoid it from happening.
    • How to avoid scams that pretend to be offering a job.
    • Get a work-from-home job at some of the biggest companies such as Amazon, Apple, Dell, etc.
    • The best search terms to find gigs that you want.

The course is evergreen, the one-off payment of $49 will allow you to access at any time, and learn at your own pace. So this is something you may want to consider.

Rat Race Rebellion Pros and Cons

    Pros

    • You'll find legitimate job offers that you can work from home.
    • Free to browse and apply for any of the positions.
    • The founders are experts with 20+ years of experience in this field.
    • Variety of flexible working methods - you'll get some good ideas.
    • Training is offered at a very competitive price.

    Cons

    • Many listed jobs are restricted to US residents.
    • Not for you if you make money online by running your own business.

Rat Race Rebellion Review - Conclusion:

As well as offering a valuable work-from-home job directory, Rat Race Rebellion offers good advice to help you find flexibility in your work life, providing freedom to your life. Other small job-finding websites exist online, but I think RRR is one of the most helpful ones. Particularly if you live in the US, I believe you'll make good use of this site.

With that said, if you're looking to make more than decent money, be your own boss and take complete control of your own "work from anywhere" lifestyle, I would strongly recommend you to start thinking about running your own business. Unlike working for someone else, everything will be under your control, so you'll need to spend some time learning the necessary techniques and put in some small investments (to build your own website and some research tools). This way, there's no limit to the level of income you make - the more effort you put in, the greater the reward will be.

I've been making money as a "semi-retired" affiliate marketer for over 5 years now. My work time is completely flexible, and I do only what I want to do. A big benefit of affiliate marketing is some passive income that continues to flow even while on vacation. If, for whatever reason, you cannot work, for instance, you have a family emergency and must go away for a few weeks, you can still earn some income. When you are working for someone, things like that aren't possible.

    1. I really like your blog. Finding quality online jobs is becoming increasingly difficult. In particular, I think that would apply to those without experience and to elderly individuals. But from your article I can see this platform is equipped with a lot of work suitable for your needs. Such forums are greatly appreciated. Thanks for sharing.

    2. Rat Race Rebellion lists reliable jobs. I know similar listings can be found at many companies because work at home jobs are everywhere nowadays. Scammers and misleading products or services are abundant online these days, which is a waste of time and money. I trust Rat Race Rebellion to screen and approve these business opportunities. With all the legal details, you won’t be surprised at anything about their business practices. The online job board could make applying for and finding real jobs a lot easier. You can rely on this website to provide you with decent virtual employment opportunities as they have been around for a few years already.
It’s amazing to learn about legit work-at-home opportunities for free.

    3. Hi Ray, your review caught my attention and I was intrigued. The number of job advertisements and agency sites is staggering, but many of the vacancies are seasonal and are filled by the time you find out that your application was acknowledged. (I have experienced it many times before)

I can only assume that the same will hold true with Rat Race Rebellion as well, although at least as an applicant you will save time by sticking to one large advertisement site like this one, rather than searching several, so you’ll save time. Your idea of running your own online business in order to earn a higher income is equally as sound as mine because that’s what I do now. But I’ll bookmark this site for when my income is gone and I have to find a job, as my own business will never be predictable in the future! Thank you for your review, Ray. I love your site content. Clair

    4. Hi, I’ve recently stumbled upon your site and was really impressed by the content. Especially in this day and age everyone is looking for work-from-home opportunities. Your site like What Is Rat Race Rebellion? [Review] is useful to many of them, I’m sure. Do you offer any collaboration ideas? I run several workshops and there is no doubt I can offer many opportunities to help your business grow. Please get in touch with me as soon as possible. I hope you will find my proposal interesting.

    5. Rat Race Rebellion has been on my radar for the past 4, 5 years, and I often feel that it’s only on the decline. I’m often having trouble finding jobs that are as rewarding as once they were. Despite its shortcomings, it is still a pretty good website, which is why I keep returning to it, but there are fewer VA jobs and when there are they are low paying or come back too late. The fact that they contacted me after I had accepted another position is not good. However, I still consider it a good place to find some jobs.

      1. Hi Shanice, thanks for sharing your experience with RRR and your thoughts. I'm slightly disappointed to learn that you're witnessing some communication breakdowns. But good to know you still approve of the service. Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it.

    6. This is very useful information, thank you. My aim is to earn at least twice as much as I do now. It is exhausting to spend most of each month away from home on an oil rig. Working at home would allow me to care for my family at any time of the day.

      1. Hi Emmery, thanks for your comment. I hope you can find a good home job from here… Although I’d like to say if you’re working on an oil rig, I guess you’re earning decent income right now and I’m not sure if you can earn “twice as much” via RRR. If you’re interested in starting affiliate marketing, don’t hesitate to contact me. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you all the best!

    7. Your review was fair and unbiased, Ray. In reality, it’s hard to get a job online without substantial experience. I agree with you. In this day and age, so many people are looking for ways to monetize their experience online, but if they do not present their experiences in a completely transparent manner, they will not be hired. If you want to work on your own business, you must sell your skills and establish yourself. There is no doubt that this system will help you, but it will not allow you to step outside your comfort zone, so you cannot make enough money.

    8. No jobs were available here when I searched for them. It is becoming increasingly difficult for me to feed my family. What are some easy jobs online that I can do without any experience? The course I would like to take is out of my reach right now. Thanks.

      1. Hi Precious, sorry to hear that you can’t find any jobs. It really depends on what you want to do, but if you don’t have any experience, the only option is something that anyone can do, such as taking surveys. You’ll only earn a few cents, not dollars. Finding an online job can be a lot more competitive than finding a job locally if you don’t have any skills, unfortunately. I hope you find something suitable soon. I wish you all the best.

    9. Thank you for the information, Mr. Ray. I am a student who is looking for work. The video is also one I enjoyed watching. There are too many scammers in the world. Everyone should avoid unnecessary situations like this one. It’s too bad it’s only available in America, because I’d love to gain work experience online.

      1. Hi Sanaha, thanks for your comment. Do you have any (offline) work experience or qualifications that can be useful for online job searching? RRR is not “only” available in the US, some jobs are open worldwide so you can start looking around to see something relevant to your experience. Good luck!

    10. Hey Ray, great review. Sure it’s a reputable site but I say don’t waste your time try to work someone else if you want to work for yourself. Too many internet jobs are tied up and low pay. You are stuck at home all day to make 2-3 dollars ain’t worth this. I agree with your sum up opinion. If you want to take total control you should learn to start internet business then sky’s the limit. Thanks

      1. Hi Vince, thanks for your comment. It really depends how you want to make a living. Running your business is all your responsibility, and it’s all about building it up, nothing happens overnight, a lot of starters quit after a few months without making a dime. Whereas providing a service for someone else is a guaranteed way of earning however small it may be. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I appreciate it.

    11. Hi Ray, thank you for your Rat Race Rebellion review. Someone in the situation who is looking for a job on the internet is going to be helped greatly by this. But, having no qualifications might make it difficult for you to even find something that you can apply for.

I have some qualifications but not related to work from home jobs and I don’t live in USA, I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to obtain one. However, people in remote villages are at least better off than having nothing because there is very little to choose from locally. It’s good to know about such helpful services.

      Thank you.

      1. Hi Hitesh, good to hear from you. Thanks for your message, yes, not every qualification or job type can be convertible to remote work and, if working from home is your priority then you might want to find out what else is going to be suitable for you. The variety of jobs listed on the site can hopefully help anyone get some ideas.
