If having a positive attitude is the ultimate secret to success in life, then what about all the painstaking efforts you make that don't yield anything? You may say. What about annoyingly busy daily schedules, rude people that you cannot completely stay away from, sad events and bereavements that you have to go through?
If you think bad circumstances keep preventing you from doing what you want to do, here's what you can do. Try to turn the way you see things completely the other way round. Everything happens for a reason. The "bad circumstances" that you are in are not bad, and what you think you want to do is wrong.
In other words, what you think you want to do right now may not actually be taking you in the right direction in life. The circumstances you are currently in may actually be trying to slow you down so that you can come up with Plan B, which may turn out to be a better plan than you currently have.
People Who Alienate New Things (Instead of Learning Them)
There are always some bitter twisted onlookers who try to make you feel small by gossiping about you behind your back. They cannot make you feel small, because you are strong enough to ignore them. They don't exist in your world.
The problem is with some 'seemingly' nice people around you. While it's important to listen to people whom you really trust, you need to ignore some negative voices of others. Have you ever heard someone make a negative assumption about someone else, followed by the phrase "I hope I'm wrong, but..."?
You know, the kind of people that sit around on social media and complain about everything? They may appear nice to you. They pretend to be 'worried' that you won't succeed, i.e. they are just hypocrites. They don't like changes. They tend to alienate new things instead of learning them. And they want you to stay in the same circle with them.
You may already know how to deal with these people. Stay away - cut them off completely or minimize your conversations with them. They may seem nice but they're only stopping you from searching for new challenges. You don't want to be pulled down by hanging around with the wrong people.
