LeadClicker Review – Non-Transparent, It Doesn’t Work Either (Just Yet)

Updated: October 28, 2020
by Ray Alexander

LeadClicker hasn't really taken off by the looks of it. I joined as I was invited, tried it out and unfortunately, nothing really seemed to work as yet. It doesn't seem to be particularly trying to sell it, either. The home page doesn't clearly explain what the business is about - I checked other pages and couldn't quite work out what kind of service LeadClicker was actually offering. And that's a red signal. I have seen well over a hundred network marketing programs over the past years that falsely promise good profits but don't explain how they work. No, LeadClicker is nothing to do with network marketing, and once you get in, the idea of it is pretty simple. The guy who excitedly invited me in said it was "amazing software that no one had ever seen"...I can't see that, unfortunately. Today, My LeadClicker review will explain what it is, and how it may be able to help you generate leads, hence sales in the future.

What Is LeadClicker?

LeadClicker connects to your LinkedIn account, it will let you search and list up your prospects by keyword, e.g. "real estate assistant", "affiliate marketing", etc., and send multiple campaign messages via LinkedIn at a specified interval. In short, it's a third-party LinkedIn message app.

The messages can include, a connection request, sales invitation, and follow-up messages according to the response you get from each LinkedIn user. Your campaign status report will tell you how many of the "leads" are active users and how many of them are connected.

LeadClicker offers a 14-days free trial period, and the price starts from $199 per month thereafter. It will allow you to save up to 500 leads.

What Do You Need To Get LeadClicker To Work?

LeadClicker is a cloud-based service so you don't need to install anything on your hard-drive. But you use the Chrome extension to connect to LinkedIn, so you need a desktop with Chrome browser when you sign up and each time you log in.

Beta Stage

At the time of writing this (October 2020), LeadClicker is still at the developing/beta testing stage. It seems to start to introduce some other advanced options in the future (assuming >500 leads for a higher monthly fee).

I have tried it for a few days and unfortunately, nothing seems to be working as yet. It's supposed to scan 600 million+ LinkedIn users but whatever the keyword I input, it seems to return nothing or just a couple of users. It doesn't let me change the login password, and I never seem to get any response to my support ticket.

However the support agent is available on chat (real person) who gives me some basic advice.

Other Features

Apart from sending campaign messages to LinkedIn users, LeadClicker claims to provide "detailed reports and statistics", but all I can see is how many leads (out of the limit of 500) I have currently, and their connection status (how many of them are connected to me on LinkedIn).

There are supposed to be some other features such as;

  • CRM integration with SalesForce, HubSpot, and Zapier.
  • Shorten your sales funnel.
  • Smart chatbots.
LeadClicker Features

None of the above 3 features appears on the dashboard and it doesn't tell you what they actually do. Not right now, anyway. It's interesting to see how they come up in the future and whether they're included in the basic price of $199 per month.

Data Science "from Harvard and IBM"

As I mentioned at the beginning, you can't really tell what LeadClicker does from the homepage, "About Us" page, or any other pages. You see a lot of sentences with big words but tell you very little, like;

  • "We have carefully formed the most dynamic team of sales professionals, user-interface experts."
  • "AI, machine learning, and data science from MIT, Harvard and IBM."
  • "Fill your calendar with hot, ready-to-buy leads."
LeadClicker About Us

The service may be something to do with lead generation but otherwise you can't make heads or tails from these descriptions.

What LeadClicker provides right now is just an automated DM service for LinkedIn. But LinkedIn is not even mentioned on the homepage, so it may be planning to expand the business and start providing other services in the near future, e.g. a direct messaging service for other social media platforms, such as Instagram, Pinterest, etc. (I'm only guessing.)

The Owner's Unknown

Perhaps the most "suspicious" aspect of this service is that we don't know who the owner is. I have indeed had received basic support from the chat agent, and he/she subsequently emailed me back. So at least I know that there is someone who I can contact (though the speed of the support is unacceptably slow and it didn't solve the problems that I had!)

Having said that, the site does not say who the owner is and all it says on the "About Us" page is it's a "team of sales professionals". The street address is shown on the site which you can easily check on Google Maps. The building appears to be occupied by a different company (kellerstreetcowork.com), so the address of LeadClicker is possibly fake.

Bulk Messaging - How Good Is It?

My personal opinion on the idea of direct messaging to social media users is, frankly, very low. It's a "me, me, me" world, you see what I mean? 99% of the messages I receive I would say are sales campaigns. But for example, I get a lot of invitation to affiliate marketing training programs. If I counter-offer them what I think is the best program, they're never interested because all they want is to sell theirs. I just get too many invitations from instant affiliate marketers that I have no option but to simply ignore most of them.

Now with LinkedIn, assuming the majority of the users are looking for recruitment opportunities, the bulk messaging facility like LeadClicker may be useful if you are looking to hire someone for your business. But if you're selling a particular product to relevant business owners, LinkedIn messaging is a shot in the dark, in my opinion.

LeadClicker Pros and Cons

Pros

  • It allows you to connect with LinkedIn users and send messages in bulk (if it works.)
  • 14-day free trial
  • Support is available via chat.

Cons

  • Nothing seems to work just yet!
  • $199 per month is a lot to pay.
  • Support is extremely slow.
  • Owner is unknown, no background information is available.
  • The location (street address) is possibly fake.

LeadClicker Review - Conclusion:

It will be interesting to see how LeadClicker will develop in the future, but right now (as of October 2020), nothing's ready. Even if it was ready, I would like to see more transparency though. More comprehensive information on the homepage and the people behind it. I think it's too much to pay to a mystery company, too much of a risk to take, for now.

  1. Hi I also got invited to try Leadcliker but I had no idea what I was supposed tod your review helped me understand it more. I don’t t even have a Linked in account anyway its no use. What happens if I open a new Linkedin account will it still work, it’s too expensive for me but maybefor the future use it might come in useful thank you.

    1. Hi Libby, thanks for your comment. To answer your question, yes it’s supposed to work with a brand new LinkedIn account. You’re required to add all your profile details (career history) when setting it up anyway, so the message recipients will know exactly who you are and what you do. As I said in the post, it doesn’t work just yet but it may be something to keep an eye out for in the future. I wish you all the best!
